Roofing2

Yes, while we helped David put a new roof on his house, our house was getting a new roof put on it. A month ago we had contracted to have our house roofed. And, wouldn't you know it, both house were roofed the same days. (It was a warranted defect in which all home owners in our area got free shingles for payment of labor.)

Roger watching early in the morning, as a truck delivers pallets of shingles and other materials.

Strong young men carrying shingles up the long and high ladder to the steep roof. That's Roger in the blue.

Old shingles being removed. A polite and efficient crew of five does about one house per day. At times they need a couple of hours the next day. We have about 140 houses here; I feel sorry for the families trying to nap babies while dealing with the electric nailers all day long, for months now.

Tar paper having been laid, they have started shingle placement & nailing. Some precarious positions at times. But they never complained, and always work long hours. Pretty much sunup to sunset with very few breaks. They even cleaned up all of the mess.

A couple weeks later, Roger mounted new exterior lights. (I learned the electrical trade from two of my brothers who are Electricians - Jim & Tom.)
