La Crosse Mini Vacation

Over the 3rd weekend in October, we traveled to La Crosse, Wisconsin, where Roger sang in the International Preliminary Chorus Contest, earning the privilege of representing our District at the International Contest next July in Indianapolis. We also visited with Theresa's brother, Chuck, and his wife Karen; as well as Roger's brother, Tom. Chuck & Karen came down from nearby Winona and attended the chorus contest, and the evening's quartet finals contest.

Crossing the bridge at La Crosse, we saw this picturesque scene. There was beautiful fall color everywhere.

On stage, sounding great (per not only Theresa's bias, but the judges agreed too) Great Northern Union chorus.

Another view of the guys going through their routine. There is a glimpse of the judges table down front.

At a lovely dinner with a view of the river at sunset, left to right; Roger, Theresa, Karen, Chuck.

At Sunday brunch in Red Wing, MN (another lovely river town): Roger with brother Tom.

After brunch, Tom inspects the new Honda Accord, complete with Roger's "toys" inside: GPS navigation,  and satellite radio.  No hybrids are currently available, so we settled for this 4-cylinder.

This is one screen of the navigation system. It also talks (for instance: "in one fourth mile, turn right". (That way you don't have to look down while you drive.)
