GNU Summer 2003 Outings

The Great Northern Union was quite busy this summer singing at Como park, at churches, at a Twins game, at a 9/11 Memorial Service and an Awards banquet. Below are a few pictures:

In an annual event with their brothers in other Metro choruses,  Great Northern Union Chorus (above) performed at Como Park Pavilion in August 2003. Roger is in green tie, top row, your left.

At a 2003 Twins Game, singing a great arrangement of Star Spangled Banner: This is the latest of a string of similar events for both the Twins and the Vikings. (Roger is in the orange at your far left.)

At that same game, niece Denise, from Blue Earth, surprised us! She had come up to the game with her fiancé and future in-laws. She was as surprised to see us there as we were to see her.

Roger with Garth, David, Hannah, and other GNU members.

Kathy's family: Cam, Kyla, Connor (who was having more fun than it appears at this moment), and Kathy trying to get everyone to look a the camera.

Grandma Theresa and Grandpa Roger; Dave's family; other chorus members.

To observe 9/11 this year, all of the Metro barbershoppers came together to sing at the  St. Paul Cathedral. The Mistress of Ceremonies was KARE 11's Belinda Jensen, seated on left.

In September 2003, Roger and Theresa chaired a Banquet at Mystic Lake for the chorus. This is one table of our friends, the Benson's, Babbs's, Van De Water's, and Erlandson's.

Our friends John & Holly Babbs as he gratefully accepted this year's Barbershopper of the Year Award. Well deserved.

And Theresa won the BIF (Best Improved Face) award for her contributions taking pictures of the chorus so that every man could improve his face.
