Being 91, we celebrated a special dinner with Pop & Marlys in Blue Earth. Below are a couple of pictures.

My sister-in-law, Diane, suggested that I I have Thanksgiving at my place and that I should cook the turkey. Well, a month or so ago, the kids and I were gathered for one of the birthday parties and they agreed with Diane and each agreed to bring something. So, today, I cooked my first turkey. And I must admit, it turned out better than I had expected. Garth & Hannah couldn't be here, but we had a great time.
The dining room table is set ready for the family.
The family room is all cleaned up and snacks are put out on the coffee table.
Even the living room has snack buried in the leaves the big plant on the coffee table.

Dinner's over and now it's time for pie (made by Connor - pumpkin & Kyla - apple). Both were excellent.

Connor & Kyla invited Grandpa Roger to attend their piano recital on Sunday, Armistice Day. Both of them are becoming quite accomplished pianists after having had lessons for several years.
Here Connor concentrates on one of several pieces he played.
Next Kyla played several different songs.

On a beautiful, late summer day, Kyla invited me to come see her at her very first horseback riding show. It was held on a horse farm out west of the Twin Cities.
Here's Kyla, sitting tall in the saddle, in her first event.
Here she is in her 3rd event that involved getting use to the order of the jumping gates. She placed first in this event.
Several bald eagles soared overhead during the afternoon.

Connor and his friend, David, together with Connor's family and grandpa celebrated his 13th birthday at Buffalo Wild Wings.

While Mike & Mary were in Minnesota to attend a wedding Mary's family, they stayed overnight with me. Here they relaxed in my family room. Dan, Kath, & Dave each stopped by with their families for a visit. Nice evening.

We're trying to continue the wonderful traditions that Theresa started by celebrating everyone's birthday with a family gathering. Below are pictures of Dan's birthday on June 3rd.

Garth is probably the only student who plays a Mandolin in the school band. Him & his dad got the okay from the band director and Grandpa helped translate music. Here he is in his spring concert.
He sits in the middle of the band so pictures are difficult. But here you can see him and the Mandolin.

Since Kyla & Hannah's birthdays are so close together, we celebrated with a party at Kathy & Cam's home on the day of Hannah's birthday: April 1st.
