European Trip Synopsis

Synopsis of European trip: September 4th - September 17, 2001.

Our party for the first part of the trip included brother Mark of Long Prairie, MN and his wife, Rona, who were celebrating their 5th anniversary with us. Also along for this part of the adventure was brother Joe and his wife Linda. They also live in Long Prairie. And of course Theresa and Roger. We had a very nice flight through the night on IcelandAir to London, where we spent 3 days staying at a hotel just off Hyde Park, a very large green space conveniently located near many tourist sites.

Then we took the new high speed EuroStar train through the chunnel to Paris where we also stayed for 3 days. During that time, we took a EuroPass train to Caen, France near the Normandy beaches, returning to Paris on the same day. Next, we took the train to Stuttgart, Germany where we stayed just one night. Following, was another nice train ride to beautiful Salzburg, Austria, where we again stayed only one night.

Then we again got aboard another train back to Strasbourg, in the Alsace region of France, which is near Reichsfeld where Theresa's relatives live. It is in Strasbourg where we met brother Ron and Allette, who had been visiting good friends in Copenhagen, and had taken a train trip through the Mosel Valley of Germany to met us. We all stayed in Strasbourg for three days. We returned to Paris on the train, stayed one night, and flew home.
