Salzburg, Austria

From Stuttgart, we "trained" on to Salzburg, a lovely small city in Austria where we stayed overnight before heading back West to Strasbourg. Recall that Salzburg is the home of the Trapp family of "Sound of Music" fame.

Salzburg hotel ; we got one of the honeymoon suites in this small, quaint hotel which was headed by the most friendly lady.

City of Salzburg, as viewed from a hilltop, middle ages castle. This is a beautiful city and we would like to return.

Roger &Theresa in a formal garden at Salzburg with the same castle in the background.

More of the gardens at Salzburg. Totally beautiful, and large! Many little areas in a very large space. It took us about an hour just to walk through.

Salzburg; more of those marlevous gardens: next 3 pictures. (We have at least a dozen more but won't "bore" you.

Still at Salzburg: train at the depot, with Austrian Alps in the background. Earlier inthe morning they had snow on them., We had rain in the city, but up there, it snowed. Being early September, it melted quickly.

Austrian Alps, taken from the train as we began our journey out of Salzburg to Strasbourg.
