Christmas Letter - 2006

MERRY CHRISTMAS  2006!

A special hello and note of thanks for your love and friendship, especially this year. We have come to appreciate our family - both our own together, our kids, grandkids, and our wonderfully large extended family as well as many friends - while we try and stay strong for one another in difficult times. Here's hoping that each of you will enjoy whatever you want most out of this season; and that your plans for 2007 are full of serenity, hope and joy.

Our grandkids are growing! David's son Garth is a Freshman in high school, happily playing mandolin; his sister Hannah, in 8th grade, just had yet another choir concert in which she also had a speaking part; and Kathy & Cam's Connor is in 7th grade, playing saxophone. His sister Kyla is in fourth grade, and considering her instrument soon. Three of them also play piano. Music is important to us, so we are glad they enjoy it too.

As always, the kids live nearby, and are a great source of joy and comfort. Everybody has their same jobs, and daughter-in-law Dawn continues in her education to become a web designer. I believe she wants experience for her resume, so if you might know of a project...

Roger still performs with the Great Northern Union Chorus, which is pursuing many new and exciting options for the next couple of years. They are wonderful gentlemen and very nice wives who have provided us with countless hours of joy, travel, and friendship. Many thanks!

Most of you already know that Theresa is taking treatment through the University of Minnesota Medical Center for mouth cancer, apparently inherited from Grandma. We will not bore you with details again, but suffice it to say that life is very different, as we try and find treatment after treatment to alter the course of the disease. It is interesting that while progress has been made in nearly all other cancers, almost none has been accomplished in this form of cancer for over 50 years.  It is a type for sure, to ask for early diagnosis/exams through both your dentists and physicians... every time you go!

We realize that many of you  have your own problems; and we wish you well. May we all find a way to realize joy during this season which is special to all of us.

Please send us your news; by Email, or regular mail. We love hearing from you.

Again, thank you for your valued friendships over the years; we are extraordinarily blessed by your presence in our lives! Thank you!

LOVE,

Theresa & Roger
