Easter (Surprise) 2010

I hosted Easter Sunday dinner at my place for all the kids, their friends, and family. However, things didn't turn out quite the way I expected.

The kids decided that I needed help in getting my house sold. So they removed my curtains and rods, plaster filled the holes, and painted several coats so well that you can't see their work at all. They're buying new curtains, rods, & light fixtures which we'll put up later in the week. The pictures below show their work. (Thanks, Dawn, for the wonderful pictures.)

But first Dan & I had to solve a computer problem.

Dave's friend, Barb, looks on as we continue working on our computer problem.

Then Kathy's husband, Cam, goes to work repairing the old curtain rod holes.

He does very nice work - painting over the plaster filled bracket holes. The next morning I couldn't tell that there had been any holes.

Hannah & Gath play computer games with lots of snacks on the coffee table.

Dave, Kath, Barb, & Cam review the removal of the old curtain valence and whether the curtains need replacing.

Here Cam removes the valence from the Living Room window while Dave & Barb look on, and Connor plays with his phone.

Cam continues removing the valence while Connor continues his play.

So how does the Dining Room look with both curtains & valence removed? But bracket marks unrepaired.

Down comes the valence.

I ended up with all three valences on the stairs which I later took to the basement.

Here the dining room table is about to become our tool bench.

Dave removes the front window curtain.

Kathy & Barb talk over their decisions and plans.

Cam removes old curtain & valence brackets.

Kathy rests while the repair work continues.

Roger, Dave, Barb, Connor, & Kath watch Cam work. Thanks for all your help, Cam.

Dave, Barb, Connor, Kath, & Hannah relax after all that work. Snacks are still on the coffee table.

Cam sands the plaster fill while other look on (Garth, Dave, Barb, Connor).

Cam continues sanding while Me, Dave, Barb, & Connor relax.
