2004 Judging Category School

Roger is a certified judge for the Barbershop Harmony Society. In that capacity, he is required to attend a re-certification school every 3 years. The school is held at Missouri Western College in St. Joseph, Missouri. This year the school was from July 28 to August 1.

Here Roger is receiving a tribute for his contributions to the category in the form of a vacation award for him & Theresa. On the left is Category Specialist Dwain Chambers. On the right is presenter Phil Lundeen. Both are long time friends and contributors to the contest scoring system.

The Contest Administrator Judges on stage Saturday night competing against the other 3 categories. This year, they finished 3rd out of 4 categories. Three years ago, they had been first. So this year everyone was out to beat them.

The days were long, lasting till nearly 11 PM each night. But the rewards and accomplishments made it all worthwhile.
